Grow the Fruit, Find Their Calling 🌿
🌱 Fruits of the Spirit: A Summer to Grow On
Summer is in full bloom, and so are our kids! With longer days and more together time, this is the perfect season to reconnect, observe, and nurture the seeds God has planted in their hearts.
This month, we’re leaning into the Fruits of the Spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control — as a powerful reminder that true wealth starts from within.
But what does that really mean?
The Fruits of the Spirit, found in Galatians 5:22-23, are signs of God’s presence in our lives. They’re not just traits to strive for — they’re evidence of who we’re becoming. When we grow in these areas, we’re living fully, richly, and aligned with God’s calling.
👩‍👧‍👦 Helping Kids Recognize Their Fruit
Summer is the ideal time to watch and wonder. With a little extra time at home or on vacation:
👀 Observe: What do your kids gravitate toward when they’re bored? How do they play? Solve problems? Lead or serve?
🗣 Ask: “What do you think you're really good at?” or “What was your favorite part of today?”
đź“– Reflect together: Try a simple Fruits of the Spirit devotional or journaling activity together.
Remember: when kids begin to notice what they’re naturally good at, they start to dream bigger. And that’s where calling begins.
I’ve seen this idea come to life in my own home with my two boys.
My oldest, Abel, naturally gravitates toward technology and problem-solving. Whether it’s computers, robotics, or the latest gadget, he’s all in. What’s amazing is how he uses his tech-savvy skills to help others. From fixing phones to troubleshooting smartboards at school, he’s become the go-to tech support for friends, family, and even teachers — and he absolutely loves it. He’s always eager to be the first to jump in and solve a problem.
Then there’s my youngest, Luke. While he’s athletic and always cracking jokes, there’s something uniquely special I’ve noticed about him: he genuinely loves being around older adults. He seeks out their company, listens to their stories, and has these incredible, deep conversations well beyond his years. Whether he’s chatting with someone at church or just hanging out with a neighbor who could be his grandpa, he’s completely at home. It’s a beautiful and uncommon gift — one that shows how connection can be a calling, too.
đź’ˇ Wealth is More Than Money
At Wealthy Kids Academy, we believe that real wealth is about more than dollars. It’s about:
âś… Living with purpose
âś… Serving with joy
âś… Growing in character
âś… Being rooted in truth
âś… And yes, turning passions into income along the way
When our kids discover what they love and do well, they’re already on the path to a passionate life full of meaning and true wealth. The money tends to follow when we’re walking in our purpose.
✨ This Month’s Challenge:
Spend one afternoon this week just watching your child.
Notice what lights them up. Take notes. Then talk about it with them over ice cream or during a car ride.
Start planting seeds now — not just of skills, but of identity, faith, and purpose.
I hope you all are enjoying your summer!
